It’s finally fall. The weather in Hong Kong is hcurrently at its most perfect. Although we don’t get any change of colors here, you can feel it in the air. It’s time to breakout in shades of red, yellow, and green!
Now I never thought of fall as my favorite season or anything because I enjoy warmer weather and in most places, fall means its starting to get nippy. But in Hong Kong our barely there fall season is really beautiful. During the day its warm and sunny with a great breeze and at night you’ve got a comfortable cool temperature that makes you actually want to be outside because its so perfect. It’s also the perfect time to get married in Hong Kong, especially if your wedding is going to be outdoors. That’s why October and November, and even December are really popular months to get married. Very low chances of rain or typhoons and a temps usually in the mid to low twenties means it’s the best time to host a big event!
However, fall in Hong Kong can be pretty random. Last month we had a double typhoon hit Hong Kong and it was mid October! It was the first time a T8 hit Hong Kong in October in more than twenty years. Suffice to say, you can never predict the weather here, you can just hope for the best.
So on that note of loving fall weather, we’ve finally gotten our wedding date fixed after having to wait a few weeks to see if any other members of the Hong Kong Country Club would release their hold on certain dates (I’ll write another post on why we picked the HKCC). Nov. 17, 2017 it is! 17/11/17 or 11/17/17 if you’re American. I think it has a nice look to it.
With the date being right in the middle of November we have a pretty high chance of having great weather not only on our wedding day, but also the days surrounding it as we’ll be having lots of out of town guests flying in. We’re hoping to be blessed with beautiful wedding week weather.
I’m writing this on Nov. 17, 2016 so pretty excited to be getting married in exactly one year from today! A year seems pretty far off and a lot that can happen in between. But I’m excited to enjoy this year of engagement!
